I recall some issues earlier and it was being caused by using different email addresses.

And your name must match exactly to your Velocity account ... ie can't have Jonny if your account name is Jonathan etc

This tiem they asked for your Velocity no. You'd possibly come to the conclusion this was because they decided email address was not reliable.
