Taiwan Flights

Has anyone had any experience with getting the cheap J flights out of Taiwan ?

I am looking at flying to YYZ or JFK return on Cathay and the flight costs starts from about $2800 aus.

Is this logistically a good idea ?

Fares are certainly a lot more reasonable than ex HKG.

If your based in Oz, J with Air Pacific might be a better option, unless you want to visit Taiwan, and there are a lot of reasons to do so, IMHO its the most undersold country in the world when it comes to tourism!

This trip has a two fold reason, 1 I want to go to Taiwan, but I also want to go to USA in J to bump up my q points with AA.

The cost is one thing but I have some time up my sleeve so am not really worried re the length of flights....

Cool, its worth the time to get out of the city, enjoy the history and scenery and food.

Even if you are not into arts etc make sure you visit the Pottery Street in Yingge , the Imperial Palace Museum is a no brainer, even a day trip to Tainan with FAT airlines to see Fort Anping is worth it!
