Have mods/admin considered having a table (similar to the ba97 one) for members to post flight details in these threads? Wonder if it might be neater/easier to see who's travelling when etc and make meets easier.

Becomes a bit coughbersome with all the posts / updates etc.

eg. username date flight dep. city lounge times

or similar fields. And then be able to sort by each heading.

As a non-"IT guru", I have no idea how hard this would be but thought it might be a nice feature to have as part of the website.

I normally just use the "find" command in my browser and look for an airport code, or if it's too popular, a date. Works quite nicely as we rarely have more than 2 pages to go through.

A table would be an interesting idea though.

Excuse my ignorance... What is ba97??

BTW... I think a table sounds like a good idea.

There's also FlightConnect - brought to you by FlyerTalk which there's a few dual AFF/FT who post flights to as well.

I make a habit of posting to AFF, FT and on BA97 to ensure that there's the best chance of those nice enough who'd like to be guested can be. It does take a little longer to do, but I don't mind.

A searchable database would be nice, and it probably wouldn't be too hard to put something together -- the difficult bit would be integrating with forum accounts so people didn't have to maintain two separate accounts.

Wondered if it may be simpler to establish threads within each months forum posting details, using one of two approaches.

Airport approach - so pick list of main airports (SYD, MEL, BNE, ADL, PER, CBR, AKL, Other Oz, NZ, USA, Asia, Europe, Others ....), and post dates in relevant thread for that airport (or if one didn't exist they could add the thread).

OR
Date approach - by date, so post what date will be where. (So when someone goes to add a flight, say on September 23, they would post in the Sep 23 thread, or if that thread didn't exist, they could add a Sep 23 thread).

However this could get a bit unwieldy, is it too difficult to skim through the pages of the existing threads?

I would find multiple threads for each day very tricky, it’s not hard to simply scroll through the existing threads per month.
