Need some advise re flights from sydney to new york. I am planning a trip to New York. When I have flown to Europe I usually use my Westpac altitude points transferred into the Malaysia Airlines Enrich programme to upgrade to Business. Enrich usually requires less points than Singapore Airlines for an upgrade. I am not sure which airline would be best for the trip in terms of using points for an upgrade. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Malaysia Airlines suspended flights to New York due to poor yield in profits. So i guess you don't really have a choice.

Not gonna be easy getting a J saver upgrade on New York route (via FRA). But at least there's a chance. You got no chance with MH.
