Would anyone be able to offer any advice when flights from Sydney to Dallas will resume with qantas. . I am looking to book for Sept-Oct 2022 but would like to secure an award seat in business if at all possible. otherwise looking to purchase maybe companion fares in business. At the moment they are around $11000 -$12000 return!!!! I am only lowly bronze unfortunately! I realise I can fly via LAX but my husband is not a good traveller so direct is so much easier for us both. We are active early 70's folk wanting to visit with family for a month. Many thanks

Think it will be a while unfortunately and all depending on demand.

If it comes back I suspect it will be with the 787, as the DFW A380 leg is likely the one that they will cut with the reduction to 10 frames, given its historically had to operate light on the return.

QF appear to be circa $12000-14000 depending on US destination for J travel.

UA closer to $8k currently…..

I see seat availability on various dates in Sep-Oct (your preferred months) for QF classic award redemptions in J, SYD-DFW-SYD, @ 126,500 points, plus $380/$304 pp, each way.

Edit: I would book soon, if you have the points available

SYD-DFW is supposed to resume 14 Feb 22 on 787 (5x weekly).

Thank you
do you know which days as yet

… do you know which days as yet
The SYD-DFW-SYD redemption flights are viewable on the QF site, now, certainly for the timeframe that you are looking at.

It’s not so much as to what days that QF flies that route, but rather on what days that there is award availability. When I see availability for flights that suit, I book them. Otherwise someone else grabs them.

A simple SYD-DFW-SYD should be easily bookable on-line.

Thank you. I cannot see availability as yet. Probably because I am bronze level. I will keep looking every day throughout sept and oct. Do you know how many days out award seats are made available for bronze members. It must be close now

QF may release award seats from 353 days out. However, this is not always guaranteed.

I have read where premium seats for Bronze may not be released until 297 days out for long-haul flights.

Edit: It’s now 295 days until 1st September. Also, I suggest booking the SYD-DFW flight as soon as you see availability that suits. Waiting until the return flight is bookable, with the aim of booking both at the same time, may mean that the first flight seats will be already gone.

QF Platinum is seeing much more the QF Bronze - can confirm that Business seats are available but not showing to Bronze at this point in time.
