Sydney long stay hotel / serviced apartment recommendations?

Does anyone have any recommendations for hotels in Sydney CBD areas that do long term stays (ie 6 - 12 months) or serviced apartments at good rates? I have a friend with a short term contract in Sydney and I told him that short term share accom or flat rentals will probably be much much cheaper but thought I'd check here if anyone has any good suggestions otherwise.
