Hi Members
Taking my wife and daughters to Sydney for this weekend booking two rooms, this period of time it would appear is when Vivid festival starts.

the-advise I am seeking, I have current bookings at both the Westin (executive floor) and the Intercontinental (Club Room) both room types are very expensive the IC being the dearest.
Is it worth paying $100 per room per night more and having a great view of the harbour ( Vivid) or stay at the Westin.

I haven't stayed at the IC before so I am unsure of the room quality, bathroom etc does it have a separate shower, room size. I have stayed at the Westin a few times however.

Your advise would be appreciated, I need to cancel one of the bookings by the 22nd 3pm

Cheers

The IC rooms are older with shower over the bath. However the club is hard to fault and is very much a deal closer IMHO. Are you planning on spending much time in the hotel, if you are go the intercon, it's easy to spend half a day just enjoying the view and good coffee in the lounge. If it's just meals and sleeping, I would go the Westin.

Thanks Markis10
Friday would be spent in town around the hotel, Saturday is spent out of town.

I would pick the Westin over the IC in a heartbeat. The rooms are nicer and although the lounge in the IC is stunning, you can see the harbour from many different vantage points so you aren't missing anything there.

To really enjoy Vivid you would be walking around the many sites along the harbour foreshore and more eg. around Circular Quay, The Rocks, Walsh Bay etc.
