Sydney F Lounge opening hours

Can anyone please confirm the opening hours (or, more specifically, the closing time) of the Sydney F Lounge on a Wednesday (18/07 if it makes a difference)? Flying SYD-DPS on JQ which departs at 5.20pm - want to know if we'll be able to stay in the F Lounge right up until the flight leaves.

I rang the F Lounge to ask and they said they'd be open until the CX flight leaves around 10pm, but I was under the impression the F Lounge was only open for flights on which F was sold, and there's no F on the CX flight in question... hence looking for confirmation.

If the lounge told you they would be open, then you cannot really get a better answer, if you think about what you have posted the lounge would have very short hours given the scarcity of F services on offer. The stay open until the last OW departure, not JQ or FJ in the case of MEL.

My understanding that it closes after the last QF or codeshare flight leaves.

Regards of if there is a F class on the flight or not.

F lounge is available to all CL members.

I am not sure when the first flight leaves SYD or MEL with F class but it would be open for the fist QF or codeshare flight.

I dunno, practical experience sometimes trumps what a business tell you But I do agree, I just wanted 100% confirmation given I'd somehow formed an opinion that it was different to what I was told, and would hate to plan our departure day around one piece of info and end up not being able to enjoy the F Lounge because it was wrong. This is a very important visit to the F Lounge, you see, as it's an opportunity to "educate" my partner about why she should be happy that I spend so much time reading AFF / flying crazy routings / doing SC runs

It'd be open until at least the 10.30 pm departure of the NRT flight, which I assume is the last QF of the day?

If they say it is going to be open then I would expect it to be open. It is possible the spa might close during quieter periods, but the rest of the lounge would still be open.

And the Internet site is fairly non-specific about the closing time simply saying: Hours 05:00 to last departure

Probably a combination of me:
- being a relatively newly minted WP who has only had the chance to visit the F Lounge once so far, and hence lacks practical knowledge about it;
- skim reading lots of posts complaining about Qantas lounges not being open for JQ flights, and my brain somehow (incorrectly) twisting that into QF lounges only being open before the departure of flights that offers the class of service that the lounge "covers";
- generally being pedantic about planning / ensuring I have correct info about things; and/or
- just having a dumb moment

You can decide how much weight you want to apply to each factor
