Sydney has been chosen to be the operational headquarters for Virgin Blue's planned international service to be called "V Australia".
Virgin Blue plans to invest $44 million in facilities in Sydney, including the setting up of a flight training centre including a Boeing 777 flight simulator.
At present, Virgin Blue's domestic HQ is in Brisbane. However, Sydney beat off the Queensland capital as well as Melbourne to be location of the international office.
