Hi everyone- I have seen that little booth for wrapping luggage into cling wrap kinda foil at Sydney airport several times now but never had any use for it. Will be traveling out of Sydney on EK415 later this month which is a 6am departure (cringe!) and this time around will have loads of oddly packed boxes and stuff with me. Does anyone here know if the wrapping service station is already open at like 4:30 in the morning? Sydney airport's stupid website states that no such service is available though I've seen it many times with my own eyes. If there's a danger for it being closed at the time of my departure, I might even consider driving by some time beforehand only to wrap all my stuff...

I have never seen a wrapping service at SYD international. I know that Smartecarte offer a strapping service on the departures level - somewhere around check in D or E but they dont offer stretch wrapping - which is the far superior product in my opinion. BUT I have heard a rumour that a real stretch wrapping service is about to start there very soon... its a very strong rumour so I hope its true ... I'm watching that space !!!

Oh really- I always thought that was one of those stretch wrap things but then I obviously was wrong- no need to make an extra track to the airport beforehand either than. Here I go back to the drawing board...

I might just drive past a few days before it while they're open and have a look. Need the best possible packaging of my stuff for this trip. And at 70kg luggage allowance, there will be a LOT of stuff

I tried to get a box wrapped there in Nov and was advised that there has never been a wrapping service at SYD Int. So unless one has opened since November, you won't find one there.
