Hello,

I have a problem. Today I am flying from New Caledonia via Sydney to Taipei.
When I went to New Caledonia for a few days I left my main luggage in Sydney because I didn't want to carry it with me. I thought that I will get my cousin to bring it to the airport for me and that I will pick it up while I am waiting for my connecting flight to Taiwan.
I have realised that I wont have enough time to go through customs and screening to get my suit case and check it in for my flight and then go via customs/screening again. Airline suggests that I dont leave the transit launch. If I do so I will risk that I miss my connecting flight.

Have you got any idea how to get my suitcase onto the same flight without going through customs? Can my cousin check it in for me if I arrange it with the airline? I dont have any other check-in luggage.

Thank you!

Contact the airline ASAP and tell them your dilemma! You may find that they can help, however don't be surprised if you find yourself flying tomorrow... (unaccompanied luggage rules include checking in i.e. someone else can't check a piece for another PAX who does not accompany)

Good luck
