Researching a trip and have the choice of Latam or QF flights.

Which is better? I'm Qantas Pub member so QF flight number is a must but the Latam flights have slightly better times at this point that suit our needs.

Cabin will be max PE unless I can jag an upgrade up higher.

Qantas PE is, IMHO, the best in the sky. LATAM stops in AKL enroute v QF nonstop, plus the crew and service is very (very) variable on LATAM. So on balance, I'd go QF.

Sold, thank you :)

But, having recently travelled LAN AKL-SCL (admittedly in J) can't fault the hard and soft product. Flight times are good for long haul. Whereas QF are not so good, especially going SCL-SYD.

If I remember correctly, QF is 4 times a week and LAN is 6 times. Which may be another factor to consider?

But, as Matt says, QF Y+ is quite good. And not sure on LANs' long haul Y. In a jam, I'd go QF Y+ if the timing suits. Enjoy!

Yeah I am hoping to get a rewards flight which will be J, but to make it worthwhile I'd like to scoot up to the US.
So flight would be Sydney-Ushuaia-Dallas-Sydney in what ever configuration that ends up being.
But, QF are miserable for rewards for us lowly Bronze folks so I might not make it 3 x J RTW trips in 3 years :(

Preference would be QF as my PJ's are starting to wear out but I'll take anything including American with the cowboy pilots.
