SYD-SIN award comparison with VA

Hi guys,

I'm VA gold and need to book an economy redemption SYD -SIN flight on 28/08/15.
Velocity want to dock me 37,500 points + $83.42.

Keen to do a comparison with Krisflyer. Would anyone be able to give me an idea of total cost?
They want me to create an account to search award bookings.
Their chart suggest it's 20,000 for a SYD-SIN saver award. Are any available and if so what are $taxes?
If they're reasonable, a conversion might make sense...

Revenue fares for that particular day 28/08/15 on Y class range from around $375 to $405 for SQ/VA, MH, JQ and QF one way.

I need a direct flight, probably the 7.55am service. So it'd be $478 (VA) or $516.52 (SIA)
I realise it's not a great use of points, but with no RTW carrot I'm happy enough to do it.
