Wondering if anyone has any insight into when Qantas will occasionally put on the A333 with the new business suites on the Sydney-Beijing route and vice versa. I fly the old config over to China, which was ... fine. J was nowhere near to full so I had a lot of space and didn't really need to sleep but the biz suites are so sleek!!!

Is there any rhyme and reason to when the 333s are on? Judging by what I can see on the free FR24, there seems to be an A333 from PEK-SYD on Fridays.

You are correct in that the route does seem to be getting an A330-300 on Fridays at present.

The best way to check which configuration you're likely to get in advance is to check the seat map. 36 J seats in 2-2-2 layout = old configuration. 28 seats in 1-2-1 layout = business suites. Of course, aircraft may be swapped.

In that case, I hope it'll be swapped on the Monday I fly ...
