Hi AFF gurus - looks like the QFF status mantle is moving to my young men, one of whom is going to Chicago for 2 weeks for work. Flights are reimbursed, and the market fare SYD-ORD (on QF and AA) seems to be around $1,800.

A couple of the flight options are 2 stops. Mmm - perhaps some extra SCs, however they're on AA domestic Y.

I know the OW Circle Pacific was a thing for J status runs, however not expected the Y version to be cost competitive.

Another option seems to be a Finnair RTW for around $2,100.

Any suggestions/thoughts appreciated...

I received an email a couple of days ago about an AA sale. I know that there was a status run from LAX to ORD via Boise and then SEA maybe - I'm a bit fuzzy on the details but if you have a play in Matrix you should find it.
