Hi guys,

My wife and I are looking to book a trip to New York in November and hoping to find a good deal on a Premium Economy/Business fare to get us most of the way there.

Dates we are hoping to travel are:
  • Syd-NYC 3/11/17
  • NYC-Syd 17/11/17

Dates are fairly firm unfortunately, although we may be able to go a day either side. Hoping for direct to US mainland rather than via Asia.

Happy to pay for a good deal, or use a combo of points - I have 360,000 QFF, 140,000 Velocity and 110,000 Amex points available to use.

No special status so happy with any airline.

Thanks team!

If wanting to travel via LAX, typically you will pay more, but PR will often be a good price, with newly refurbished A333s on Melbourne and Sydney (excellent suites in J, and new W class) to Manila and B773ERs via Vancouver, Canada.

You are welcome to prove me wrong but it would be extremely hard to redeem points at this late stage for J on VA or QF, or indeed any airline, even though November is not as busy as the pre-Christmas rush.

JAL for PE at $3.3k
Korean Air for just over $6k in Biz

You mentioned you wanted to avoid Asia but 'good deal' and 'avoid Asia' are mutually exclusive terms in this case.

You could try Emirates/Qatar/Etihad for business seats. You could find something under $10k.
