Hi folks.

I want to take the family to Mauritius from Sydney, was thinking of going SYD-DXB-MUL-DXB-SYD on Emirates but I want to book the whole thing with QF codeshare flight numbers for SC earn

Is it possible? I presume not but thought I'd check.

Thanks guys and girls!

Get EK metal but with QF flight number from SYD to DXB, then at least you earn some SC.
OR get SYD - SIN, then something with OW from SIN to MUL.
I think the DXB way is more of a SC earn, as that EK metal does carry a QF flight number, where as the others are purely OW airlines, where you will earn less.
You will get QF SC flying EK up to DXB at the least, after that, don't think you can get a QF flight number from DXB to MUL.
QF website is your friend, in this case.
QR (Qatar) might be another one, but as QR only carries its own flight number in the OW system, you earn less SC.
If I was doing it, I would go EK via DXB.
Edit: you will earn QF FF points, from DXB to MRU, but no SC as its a purely EK metal EK flight number, no QFs.
Its coded MRU on QF FF earn calculator.

1. I assume you mean MRU instead of MUL (which is Moultrie in the US).
2. Unfortunately MRU doesn't appear to be on the list of QF codeshare destinations on the EK network: link
3. I understand you wish to maximise status credit earning potential but do bear in the mind the SYD-DXB-MRU route is >30% further in distance to travel than the most direct routing, which would SYD-PER-MRU.

I transitted PERdom to PERint twice, never again.
Give QF telephone sales a call, I had a look at QF bookings, you can't book (online) from SYD - DXB - MRU.
Via MEL, QR does MEL - DOH - MRU bookable online. Min SC earn the QR way, but its an easy airport to transit.

I've done SYD-JNB on QF, overnighted in JNB and then go onto British Airways (operated by Com Air) JNB-MRU.
The only problem with this is the JNB-MRU-JNB flights are only operated on Saturdays and with the times you'd have to overnight in both directions.
Sure it's not the most direct options, but if you're looking for OneWorld, it's the best option

In terms of flying time - MK via PER will set you back around 11 hours compared to 19.5 hours via DXB (that's pure flying time, not taking in to account transit times in PER or DXB). it's a big commitment for SC earn.

(looking at the timetables looks like QF/MK comes in at 15 hours total, EK at just over 25 hours. Although EK operates on more days of the week than MK)
