Hi all,

I've currently got CX Diamond (via Centurion) and am QC with Silver status. I've already met re-qualified for Silver (cut off date 30th November) and do not foresee obtaining Gold (though may do status run in a couple months). Will I possibily see any benefits in booking with my CX Diamond which is OWE or is it better raking up the QF Lifetime points for future? I'm due for my fortnightly SYD - MEL trip soon so thought I'd see what you experts think!

I understand Qantas has recently annoucned at gate upgrades, though my understanding is that this is for International only.

Thanks

At gate upgardes on Int'l are not free upgrades.

I found using my AA EXP status that I was getting row 14/17 on a 73x so didnt seem to really help.

Doesn't CX DM through Centurion last only one year? I would think you'd want to focus on keeping that or just ditch it altgother for QFF Platinum as it's easier to achieve?

If so just use QFF Silver in your booking and show your DM card for J lounge access.

CX Diamond is subject to review and has not been decided if it will be abandoned or extedned, according to my Relationship Manager at Amex. I don't travel extensively wiht Qantas. Rack up a decent amount of points and travel to Europe regularly and use Singapore Air with Krisflyer miles as I find bookings rather flexible.

Though from what it sounds there probably is no point in booking with my CX membership number

I have never been that far down a 737 with my AA EXP status. Today I have selected row 13 as its an exit row, but was offered options from row 6. This has been the same for all my 737 flights this year (2 per week at the moment). I used to be able to select row 4, but have not been offered anything in front of row 6 since WP1 status became part of the picture. on 767 I am normally offered from row 25 back.

So I would certainly expect CX Diamond to be seeing much the same as I am seeing with AA EXP status.

Good to see that they have improved this then NM. It was the key reason I switched to QF from AA. In retrospect a possible mistake on my part having had much more travel than expected :(

Thanks for the feedback all.

Based on feedback, seems like at very best I'd get to chose some better seats. Though with QF Silver I usually get the front section of the plane, so probably best just putting my QF number when booking and using my CX Diamond for business lounge if I'm not in J

Hi all,

Just thought I'd let you know. Recently tested booking a MEL - SYD flight with my CX Diamond membership. Seating selection was much better that that of QC Silver. Other than that, no difference. Still waiting to see how many Asia Miles points I earn for that flight and compare it with the 1,000 points from Qantas.

Cheers !
