Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

GC distances
SYD-LIM 7690 - would require EDTO 330 (or 240 plus a northerly deviation mid south-pacific)
PER-LHR 9009 - ok with EDTO180

Have we considered AKL-LIM? No deviation required with EDTO240. NZ have the right aircraft. Still a significant diversion to meet EDTO180.

A route I wished had been succesful was DXB-PTY - anyone know if that idea has died permanently for Emirates? I heard it was for lack of bookings.

Then they could have added PTY-AKL, and thus a beautiful round-the-world loop.

Join SCL and LIM and that looks like a status run to me.

Next month, doing MEL-SYD-SCL-LIM-EZE-SCL-LIM-SCL-AKL-MEL. All in J except for EZE-SCL sector.

Not a planned status run as such, but sort of developed all by itself

We are planning some South American adventures next year so the timing is interesting. But I do not transit through SYD, never worth it. Would rather transit AKL, if not directly from MEL

We're headed to Bolivia & Brazil next year so a Lima connection would be great! I wish someone would start direct flights between Australia and anywhere in Brazil.

Just as an aside, unless Lim have upgraded their airport since I was there in 2012, I would say that Lim is one of the the worst airports I have ever been to....small, disorganised, insufficient nosebridges, insufficient tarmac buses, insufficient aircraft stairs.....but it is the gateway to Cusco and Macchu Picchu! (also to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands). Having already been to MP, I see no need however to visit again! Galapagos, however....;)

What the heck is a nosebridge in relation to an airport :D ???

I agree with you about everything else though.

Definitely would be great to have a direct flight from Lima to Sydney, save so much time and in transit. Good for both nations, people and business.

Sydney-Bogota would indeed be a nice route, albeit a long one. Surely though I'd expect LATAM to ever consider it, rather than QF.

It looks like Sth America is the new growth corridor for Australia after Asia and Nth America. There is alot of possibilities, with LATAM now on MEL-SCL and also doing SYD-AKL-SCL, I think its time they may consider further expansion in the coming years especially as they get more confident operating non-stop routes from the experience they gain from flying MEL-SCL currently.

Though targeting tourists/leisure traffic does not sound like a good business case, how would the yields be on such flights?
