hi

Has anyone heard or have guesses about QF re-starting direct fights? I'm on my 3rd attempt to get their (thanks COVID!!) & would really prefer direct.

thanks

With QF being so unable to keep-up with current passenger demand, I wouldn't be putting a lot of money on introducing flights from a small regional airport on one coast to state capitals on the other coast particularly soon. If it were me & I wanted to get there before the middle of next year I'd probably just accept the PITA of changing planes in Perth ... and even then I don't know whether they'd do it.
I'm sorta surprised they ever did, what were they flying for 5hrs with such a small number of passengers? Or do more people go there than I expect?

Note that I have a negative amount of industry knowledge ... I'm just guessing.

Thanks. The attraction is Ningaloo Reef & surrounds. Pre COVID in peak they were running A330's 2 - 3 times a week, so it must have been worthwhile. They are currently running A330 ex MEL some days. Otherwise it's 737's some days - squishy for 5 hours. Oh, plus there's the US eavesdropping base at Exmouth!

Oh, I’d be happy to bet a reasonable sum of money on them introducing flights from a small regional airport on one coast, specifically LEA, to a state capital on the other coast, just not SYD.

Not that it’s guaranteed but odds are probably better than 50/50.

I don’t recall such services (either to SYD or MEL) precovid, I could be wrong, and certainly not in an A330.

The only A330 arrival into LEA I'm aware of was an emergency landing (QF72 operated by VH-QPA)...

No record on AFF on any services from east coast to LEA, on 330 or 737. Have zero recollection of this ever being an option. Maybe OP is getting mixed up with BME, PHE or KTA? Even for those services it was only 737s and KTA was quite some years ago now (2014?).
