SYD - DFW - NY - DFW - SYD QF Booking engine query

Using her Corp TA, my daughter is looking at paid J SYD - DFW - JFK - DFW - SYD. She’s reluctant to go via LAX.
On the QF site the US sectors don’t necessarily show. Why is that? Would the Corp TA get around that? Or are there other routes she should consider asking for? Travelling in J.

She also would be looking at the 1 hr 25 min connection. So would need interlining. Any thoughts please?

SYD-HKG-JFK on CX/CX.

1hr25 for which connection? On arrival in the USA? Too tight. For leaving the USA... fine if the flight is on time, but both winter, summer, spring and autumn all bring the potential for bad weather either snow in the north, or T-storms in the south.

LAX is actually safer due to the number of flights you can be put on to/from AU. DFW unfortunately only has one flight a day.

A quick check of the QF site found multiple options via DFW and SFO to JFK and LGA. They were even selling a UA connection via SFO...

Also consider QF J LAX to JFK is superior in every way to AA F DFW to JFK.

Other routes I'd look at is QR via DOH.

Instead of JFK, the other option is LGA where there will be a few options with AA as a 1hr25min connection in USA is very tight. She should give herself > 2hrs for the connection and not having to stress at DFW. I missed my connecting flight once with a 1hr45min connection and the next time I allowed myself plenty of time and made it from through within 45mins but felt less stress as I spent some time at the AA Flagship Lounge

Thanks all for your advice which I have passed on. She may have the chance to go for gold for the first time ever so may choose to stick w’ QF. I read the thread on the 1.25 hour conn at DFW and agree it’s too tight and stressful. I’m hoping that they don’t insist on Delta.

It will also depend on cabin and if she can use the Egates. Has she been to the USA on her current passport?

On a work trip with 4 of us with 1h44 connection. Dont remember if we were early or late on QF7 connecting to AUS.
Me in J with egates made it with about 20 or so minutes to spare in the AA lounge before boarding.
2x in Y with egates made it with about 10 minutes before boarding started.
1x in Y with new passport so no egates didnt make it. I think roughly 10 or so minutes after the plane left he made it to the gate.

As she is req'd to take the cheapest, I hope that QF ends up the cheapest out of any other options. (She is now looking via LAX).

I recently look at DFW vs LAX. Considered the options per above thread. In the end QF11/12 SY-JFK coa LAX was cheapest.
