Ok I want to travel on QF (or OneWorld for status maintenance reasons :)) on the following routing, SYD-BKK and then MNL-SYD utilising an LCC between BLL and MNL.

However if I try to book either of these trips one way the fares are coming up at ridiculous amounts (nearly twice as much as a return SYD-BKK).

Is there anyway to do this or not?

I have investigated the OneWorld Circle Asia fare but the price on the website is out of date and for the J fare is now about $6,000 opposed to a return J fare SYD=BKK of approx $4,500.

Also once I return to SYD I would like to fly to CBR in whY (noting that virtually all the trips are in the Dash 8 so J not available). How would I add this trip to the main trip noting that it would be cheaper to purchase this separately.

Tried doing it as an International multi-city on the QF website.... with a "trip break" as they describe it to allow other travel BKK-MNL..

It comes back with "One of your flights is not a valid routing.. ring Qantas....." or words to that effect....

Admittedly I just had a quick look......

I don't think it would be possible to book SYD-BKK//MNL-SYD online as this is actually classed as an open-jaw itinerary rather than a multi-city itinerary.

Your best bet would be to get a quote from a travel agent or even QF ticketing. A friend recently purchased SYD-PVG//HKG-SYD in economy from a travel agent for ~$1200 which was a really good price.

A TA will be able to easily sell a QF open jaw fare through their GDS so your best bet would be to contact a retail agent.
