Surveys - who bothers??

As others said, no points offered, strait to junk mail.

There was a time QF bombarded me with surveys as part of some team I didn’t even ask to join. Took a while for them to understand I’m not going to waste my time for free. I did like Hertz surveys where they used to offer discount codes in the end.

I did the ABT one and I never win anything. I limited the next car purchase answer to sub $200,000. Not sure it will be a Tesla as I have grown Lexus goggles since 1994.

I do the surveys, if I remember, as long as they don't take too long.

Have had some calls asking for feedback and follow up from the surveys I'e done.

Every business seems to want a survey these days. Get home from a holiday and there's an email from every accommodation provider wanting a survey done on your stay, the tour you went on - can we have a Trip Advisor review, etc etc etc.

I rented a Budget car rental in Brisbane, no probs, checked car in and that night got email asking for survey feedback etc. Didn't fill it out. 2 days later, rented Budget again from same location, car was filthy, sand etc, took car back and complained, staff not very interested and never received an email asking for feedback on a survey........so filled out 1st survey request and complained about car and service and never heard back but did noticed they took $10 of the rental.

Lodged a travel insurance claim with Covermore. Got am email asking to fill out survey etc asking about my experience with them.......hadn't even started processing my claim (they paid) and they're asking for feedback, WTF?????

Don't bother with surveys, free market research for them, even the ones that offer points etc, often want too much information.

Surveys go straight to the trash. I get a couple a day and I don't have the time.

Having said that there are a few exceptions - publications/sites I like or if there's an incentive (eg: points, vouchers, or a donation to charity).

Only if its J or higher for me now. I see a comp, read the T&Cs and see economy, nope - not risking my one-only-karma-life win on a Y seat.

My previous partner won a trip to London a few years back. I saw it was in Y and suggested he take a friend instead!

Somewhere along the line I must have completed a survey that got me selected last week for the recent SA Election debate on Sky News. Although I’ve unsubscribed to the dodge Qantas ones now.

I’m getting tired of all the surveys that businesses want. Over very insignificant transactions.

With the Qantas surveys do you think this information gets on sold and analyzed by third parties?
Do the people who organize these surveys own the information?

I expect a third party would analyse the information, it also wouldn't surprise me if the aggregate results where used by third party companies either.

Then again they would already have a term in their T&C's (Just checked it's 22.1 c & d for the FF T&C's) that they can pass your personal details over to third parties. However this is pretty standard, I remember once running a competition and I needed to have that clause in there for my own T&C's otherwise I wouldn't be able to send the prize to the winner via Australia Post.

I never participate in surveys. IMO the spam and loss of privacy far outweighs any benefits from participating
