I'm in the process of making the jump from Velocity Gold to Qantas Gold and will be doing a QF status run to Auckland in the middle of next month to achieve that.

I just happened to log into my Velocity account and had a very nice surprise that I have another year of VF Gold locked in.

I'm not even sure how this happened, as I was sure that with the changes, my Gold status would be gone as of April. I currently have 507 status credits, but I made the 400 to renew. Did I get the timing of the changes wrong?

Anyway, I'm still changing my allegiance to Qantas. But at least I've got Velocity as a backup for the next year.

There’s another thread with several reporting that they’ve been comp’d a year.
