I fly on QF41

I wouldn't be surprised if there's hundreds of thousands of disruptions and people stuck at CGK and nearby airports.Just read QF39/40/41/42 cancelled till at least Wednesday- thinking of the many travellers stranded or plans upended.
My partner told me there’s ash all over Jakarta. Looks like a fog

BA9 was the famous incident with all 4 engines being lost (before recovering some once they left the ash) they also had the whole windows sandblasted so they had to make the emergency landing blind and with untrustworthy airspeeds. I think theres a few other examples like SQ21 (which flew into the same cloud shortly after and suffered similar fates 3/4 engines down).Jet engines really hate that stuff. I understand their caution in suspending operations
