Hi All

Will be in Washington DC for about a week April 2018 then onto Nashville and LA. for about a week each...think we would prefer Air BNB but not sure what areas to stay in. Washington would like to be able to walk or metro/bus around easily for the major sites and be close to supermarkets/cafes etc. Any suggestions on good areas to stay ? Budget $250 a night

Nashville not sure whether to stay downtown or the other side of the river near the Grand Old Opry - car is an option here

Last 5 days will be LA which we have done quite a few times and would ideally like to have some beach close by - Santa Monica is good but looks pricey...any other recommendations?

At this stage not sure if this is going to be a road trip from Washington via Nashville to LA or fly vs fly/drive

Any information or suggestions would be welcome

Re: Nashville. We stayed downtown, at the Hilton which is opposite the CMA Hall of Fame and about a 90 second walk from the bars/restaurants ect. Little Richard lives in the Hilton Penthouse and we saw him one morning. If I was to go to Nashville again, I would either stay at the Hilton again or book a Air B&B in Printers Alley (friends did this and had a great place).

The Opry is about 15-20mins drive away and although it has the big outlet centre/mall, not much else so you will be driving into town each day anyways. We enjoyed being able to wake up and being within walking distance to most things. We did take the Hop On/Off bus to get to Marathon Works (American Pickers) and a few other places but most of the tourist stuff is downtown.

We also took the opportunity to attend a ice hockey game at the Bridgestone arena so check to see whats on and get your Opry tickets early (like the day they are released) to get the better seats.

We also did a walking tour which took us around downtown for about 2hrs, Walkin' Nashville | Nashville's Coolest Walking Tour!
