I am suffering from recurring China withdrawal symptoms and also I am planning a birthday surprise (October or November) for my +1. I want to combine PER-> HKG and return flights on CX with some reasonably priced Hilton hotels and some high speed trains. We are usually happy with 2 to 3 weeks away.

Last year we had a couple of weeks away staying at a Guangzhou Hilton and the Shenzhen Shangrila, plus return flights (one on points) for just over $3000 for the two of us. I thought that that was a pretty good deal.

My +1 wants to go to Qingdao, so that is a priority as it is his birthday. I want to go to Dalian and Jingdezhen. We have done the slow Hong Kong to Beijing train, plus the Hong Kong to Shenzhen and Guangzhou trains. I fancy trying the high speed train from Guangzhou to Wuhan or return. The riverfront at Wuhan at night is spectacular.

Does anyone have any suggestions about routes, trains, cities, Hiltons etc.?
