MU interline with QF and earn QFF. QF also sells a QF codeshare on MU from PVG to PEK, so they'd be the best options. As mentioned cheap first tickets are also available on elong and ctrip which are worthwhile

I won't be able to interline the tix unfortunately because I purchased the QF ticket some time ago, and have just booked the MU flight ticket X Class yesterday. Yep, cheap skate and as I understand no QFF points earnt on MU X tix. Did contemplate the First tix but couldn't justify paying 2.5 times more for such a short flight up to PEK.

it is worth noting there are heavily discounted F class tickets, as low as RMB900 for F class between SHA or PVG and PEK. If there is a flight offering F around the time you need to go for that price I'd highly recommend you take that. On the MU A333 you will have full (angled) lie flats. Not normally such an issue for a short (2 hour) flight, but delays can be lengthy. My record for a PEK-SHA flight is just under 6 hours (around 4 hours sitting on the ground). Sleeper seats were great for that flight. (This heavy discounting applies to many trunk routes in China where one of the two airlines will offer these heavy discounts. MU is usually the one on the Shanghai to Beijing Route although I saw a RMB900 fare on CA between PEK-PVG for their late night departure the other day. I think Air China is the discounter on the SHA-CAN route (with CZ being the full fare one))

I am QF Platinum. Can I gain access to MU's lounge for the flight to Beijing?
