Would someone please tell me how you turn off the automatic 'subscription' function????

I have no desire to have my email inbox filled with useless emails telling me someone has responded to a thread I have responded to.

I can't see any function in the control panel, except to 'unsubscribe' after the event.

If this is a 'feature' of this site, why?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Hey Aircrash

On the notification e-mail there should be an "un-subscribe link".

A few seconds checking the user control panel and looking at options would have led you to the option "Default Thread Subscription Mode" and perhaps a deduction that "do not subscribe" might have done the trick

Click on the link » Goto Control Panel

If you have any subscribed threads then unsubscribe from all of them.

Clink on the link Edit Options

and ensure that Default Thread Subsription Mode is set to Do Not Subscribe.

While logged in, try clicking on this link.

http://www.frequentflyer.com.au/community/profile.php?do=editoptions

Modify your setting for "Default Thread Subscription Mode" to "No Email Notification".

You may then have to unsubscribe from your previously subscribed threads. (I'm not sure that it is automatic).

To do that easily, click on this link:

http://www.frequentflyer.com.au/community/subscription.php?do=viewsubscription

On the right hand side, it will show your subscriptions.

Click on the top "Checkbox" (Next to Notification in black text on grey background), then down the bottom of the page click on down arrow on the selection box next to "Selected Threads:". Scroll to "No Email Notifications".

If you've posted in more than 15 threads, then you may need to go to the different pages and unsubscribe there.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Mal, your suggestion seems to have done the trick.

Dave Noble, your ascerbic suggestion was as useless as most of your rantings.
