So this year I am on a mission to WP! I have a J fare to New York return later in the year which is the only reason I am in with a chance.

Currently I'm SG. I have an upcoming work trip to South America booked, its flex and cost my firm a little over 6K but it's an annoying B faire, which I understand is only treated as Dscount Economy by Qantas.

The Qantas ticketed route is code shared with LAN so I can't request an upgrade. Can anyone suggest how to maximisne my SC collection and or request an upgrade on the LAN flight dep SYD?

Ask your work TA how much to reissue the South American ticket in the cheapest business class fare bucket. Tell the TA that you wish to pay personally and put it on your own credit card.

I did this once for a domestic fare booked in Economy (Y) and it was very little more to book into Business (D) which I did.
