Strategy to obtain US Amex

Anyone else have a Barclays AAviator that will transfer to Citi next month? I already have the Citi AA card and don't need 2 of them, plus I plan to go for Citi Strata later this year so I cancelled Barclays AAviator and transferred credit line to my Hawaiian card.
I have the Barclays aviator .

Yes I'm wondering what to do about that card as well.
If you don't already have a Citi AA card, you should apply for one before Barclays transfers over. Most people think the transferred card will prevent you getting a new SUB for Citi AA card. The jury is out on if the transferred card affects 5/24. Probably not but I didn't want to take the chance.

Sad to see it go. it was churnable every 2 years for a solid chunk of AA miles.

There is a good analysis on whether (pro vs con vs benefit v.v.v) to move over from Barclay to Citi or Cancelled on Frequent miller. I found it interesting for whoever have the cards to move but I dont have that card.

Has anyone got any data points on how long the transfer is taking from Amex au membership rewards points to your Amex USA mr account? I did mine via chat 7 days ago. I see they deducted my points from my au Amex, but they haven’t appeared yet on my Amex USA account. Rather hair raising wait here… also do they advise you by email when the points land in your Amex USA account? TIA
It's been pretty slow for me too. I initiated the transfer about 3 wks ago. The points disappeared from my AU account after a wk, it's been 2 wks since and still haven't shown up in my US Amex account.

Normally, it takes 1-2 wks, sometimes the pts even appear in the US account a few days before leaving the AU one. So this time it's definitely different.

2. What's the highest, or one of the higher bonus points on offer for Amex Platinum and/or Bonvoy Brilliant card?

If I have 1m MR points from my Explorer card, would it be more worth to get Amex Platinum? Then transfer the 1.2m points over. Based on FX around 0.7, then I'd get about 700k MR in US Amex, is that right?

This has been asked multiple times every 2nd week I reckon. Please read/search upthreads there were multiple reply recently.
This is a huge thread of 700+ pages. I don’t read every single post and have tried searching mr transfers and it doesn’t come up every time. Would you care to give me a page range where this may be or the search wording that would cover these data points. Thanks
For AU to US MR transfers, they did say 2 weeks and most of the time it will be that timeframe from request to it being posted on the US account.
Many thanks for this mi thought it was one week.

Thanks this is very helpful to know. I’ve found it to be the same so far. It’s now 8 days since I initiated the transfer and the points were deducted from my au Amex after 4 days. I have done this transfer last year and it only took about a week. I’ll pm you when my transfer appears. Tia.

Your maths sounds right. I’m wondering whether you might not need to Amex Platinum notwithstanding your Explorer points are currently in a different Program and whether your 1m Explorer points = 0.7m US points anyway ie all forms of AU MR points are seen as ‘MR points.’ Interested if anyone else has had that experience. Would save you a lot of $$ on the AF if that’s the case.

You have to figure out whether Amex plat benefits are of value to you. Also whether the programs you use via Amex USA outweigh the Amex plat AF. For me Alaska mikes are hugely valuable due to the free cancellation rule.

Yea, it is a huge resource, but a great one. I had to throw the link into Claude and let it use it as a knowledge base 😝
