Strategy to obtain US Amex

Ah. I have always played this super cautiously (with C1 anyway) - did online US transactions first, then some physical Au transactions, then added to Apple Pay

Plenty of DPs out there of them fraud blocking you if you try and add to a digital wallet first up

You should pay for it to ship. Once you have physical card on hand it will remove the fraud. FRom my experience, always use the physical cards for 1st few transactions - if not all my online transactions would be declined - not just Apple/Google wallet.

Even after using for awhile, some big transactions i.e. $500 thru Wallet were declined. then I had to use physical card

Yep trying to use your card without the actual card is a massive red flag. Always get your first card in hand if possible. It makes the rest of the journey much easier.

Given that you've been flagged for fraud, I'm not sure if getting your card in hand is going to solve your problems. You may just need to keep calling till you get someone sympathetic or close the card.

I might have also unnecessarily clicked credit limit increases button .

The credit limit increase button is known for FR in the Amex eco system so it's not surprising that Chase is suspicious. Shouldn't use the CL increase button too much if possible.

I just received a pre-selected offer via US postal mail from Capital 1 to my US Global Mail inbox for the Venture card - 75k points after 4k Spend. I don't currently hold any C1 Cards but have 5 Chase CC and 3 Amex. The offer comes with a unique code that is inputted on the application page. I remember applying for a C1 card without success a couple of years back so i'm a little hesitant. Has anyone else had success applying with one of these personalised offers? I have ITIN only.

There have been reports of C1 shutting down those with ITINs and NRA status so it's up to you if you want to risk it. It'll take a slot for ?/24. Should only consider if you can hit the spend fast and transfer the points out.
