Strategy to obtain US Amex

It doesn’t show up on mine even after 8 months. I think many others are in the same boat.
All seems a bit random - I’ve got an 18 month old Amex Green, an 11 month old Amex Hilton and an 11 month old C1

The C1 and (I think) the Hilton were with an ITIN, while the Green was a GT.

MyFico is only showing 2 credit cards on record…

Also interesting that the recent Chase rejection isn’t showing up as a hard pull (yet) - not sure if that takes a while to be on record ?

That's not been my experience - I have autopay set up and it takes the statement balance each month, same as Amex.
Interesting - I thought that was what it did before but it definitely didn't do so this month, it took the full outstanding balance as of the date of the automatic payment being made. As I say it's not a big issue as for within HSBC transfers you can easily schedule them in their online banking anyway as the CC appears on the list of accounts. I was previously moving money from savings to current in advance of autopay and date would sometimes move a little so I think in retrospect easier to just sort myself with a future dated transfer when the statement comes in :)

Thanks, can you please tell me which hsbc u talking bout ? And do you have referrals link, I would like to apply it thru to support all your work for our community
I don't think HSBC do referral links? For those talking about groceries/petrol it's the cheaper $95 one, in my posts I was talking about the more expensive Elite card as I find the 5x on travel more beneficial (tend to spend on gift cards for groceries and EV so no petrol costs!). I also like the ability to get restaurant access at airports with the HSBC PP vs the Amex one :)

With Chase, cant forget about the DashPass benefit that is eligible for 12 months. Can be used in AU.

There will be an error if the current location is an Australian address - change it to some US address you know and then DashPass activation will work. Downside is that we might not be able to use the USD credits in Australia.
