Strategy to obtain US Amex

i went through FR 6 month ago - they wont care about income just seeing that money is going in and. can pay the account and they wont accept any overseas statements or sources - they wont question where the money is coming from.
Are you paying P2 cards from P2 bank account - if so you should be fine.
Others who were shut down by amex after events like this were refunded annual fee i believe - you get 30 days to transfer out your points
good luck
in relation to airline refund - if they can process it and pay if now so it comes off what you owe them go for it but if need to get a check or bank transfer from airline if amount is more than what you owe amex may be easier to wait

Thank you, George. That’s very helpful.. I owe an amex about 23k at the moment and my Check only has 5K unit and unfortunately p2 have been using my checking to pay off the credit card previously.
My checking doesn’t have much transactions.

Hi Team. My P2’s US AMEX Business charge card was placed under a Financial Review (FR) after large spend followed by large refunds.
As of today, all AMEX cards (personal + business) are charging suspended.

AMEX requested:
Two months of U.S. checking account statements.

Issues:
  • P2 only has AMEX Checking + one other U.S. checking account
  • No salary or regular income is deposited into U.S. checking
  • All income (employment + rental) is earned in Australia
  • I offered Australian income documents, but AMEX said overseas income is not accepted
  • I also offered to pay the full outstanding balance, but was told payment would not resolve the FR
Questions:
  1. If I cannot provide U.S. checking statements showing income, is there any way to pass this FR, or is closure inevitable?
  2. Has anyone succeeded by providing AMEX Checking statements with balances but no salary, or international transfers into U.S. checking?
  3. If AMEX closes the accounts:
    • Are annual fees automatically refunded, or do I need to request them?
    • Is a full annual fee refund reasonable if benefits were unused?
  4. I have an ~USD 10k airline refund pending — should I wait until the FR is resolved before requesting it?
Any firsthand experience with US AMEX FRs for overseas-based users would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Many if us went thru and shared this experience. You can dig into it

But basically, you can provide 2 bank statements ftom one bank that you think you deposited money in the most in the past 2months.

They will review based on that as income. So the more deposit the better. But just pick 1 bank from my experience. I provided statements from 2 banks and was asked to choose 1 only.
