Strategy to obtain US Amex

Please advised - I made a mistake applying for Ink Unlimited - got rejected - Wanted to do Reconsideration but found out this card impose Oversea Transaction fee. Does it worth it to get the card though? What do you think? No Annual Fee +1.5% cash back on all transactions v.s. Oversea Transaction fee 3%? Of course I want their bonus which I can convert to UR as holding CSP.

Should I do reconsideration for this card?
as @levelnine pointed out - and for anyone still afraid of Oversea transaction fee-

3% on 6K is $180 then you get 1.5% cash back on everything - so it's just like a $90 Annual fee for the SUB.

So it's a no Brainer - Go after it.

I spent almost 1 hour on recon line on Sunday and the person was convinced - saying she took all the notes and they would reconsider it.

Tuesday I got approved. Card is on the way.

The reason I applied Ink Unlimited is because I had 3 rejections for Ink Preferred already - so Thinking of an "easier to get" card - I am 5/24 with 1 authorized card so always have to call in for Recon and dispute.

Great work - when you spend time on phone for recon - were they business related questions? If so any pointers for future reference
Thanks
Yes - I need to gather all information regarding business - Turn over - expenses- what activities - v.v How I get customers. How I charge customers. v.v.

Initially the person kept insisted Authorized Card still counts toward my 5/24 - But once I said I am not financially responsible for it and already closed that card she back down and willing to look at my records.

I also brought in that I had long business relationship with Amex so I have been using amex for business related but getting too expensive for my Business expenses. Plus not many merchants I am dealing with accept Amex Or will charge me a high percentage.

Do you actually have business expenses or are you a creative writing major?

I’ve built up a fair amount of Amex MR points and I want to cash out around 300k at 1cpp usd ($3000 usd) to offset some of the costs of the annual card fees and exchange rate movements.

I don’t have an Amex checking account but read up that if I book a refundable hotel(s) via Amex travel using MR points at 1cpp and cancel after a few days, I’ll receive the cash equivalent for the booking.

Has anyone done this? Is it against their T&Cs? Am I going to risk getting shutdown or have it clawed back for going this?

How long after the first GT can one apply for the next ?also does one need to have An active Oz Amex for gt or will an online account do ?

Tried to apply for my P2 who has held Amexs for several years in the past, and has an active supp from my Platinum Charge, no dice.

I think you need an active card.

I would say yes - we did P2 recently and all went through
Just check the Equifax Aus credit profile and if looks good it should be fine - thats what gets converted to a "US credit file" for the Nova Credit application
Thanks .did they still ask for Bank statement as proof of address ?
