Strategy to obtain US Amex

I cant see why not
My understanding is that to deal with IRS you get SSN or ITIN

I went through SH Studio - can always email them and ask. (https://theshstudio.com/ - their website seems to be down as of just now - hopefully a short term glitch)

Saw the same, appears down. I just did not want to go apply for it if they would question me on my current status, because last thing you want to be seen as is someone trying to work whilst on the visa that does not allow it.

From my understanding when applying on the form have to tick category why you are applying and she just ticks Other with no reason
Yeah, last thing I need them to think about is me applying for work purposes, as I already work from home, so I am in the USA working from home on the Visa Waiver.

I will need to look and see what is there for me to tick though.

Just got my ITIN from EIN Express. I want to take it for a spin. Already have FICO score and Sarasota has been my address for some years.

Is there anything else I need to bear in mind? I’m thinking I want the C1 Venture as my first ‘Everyday’ card to use alongside my US Citi Premier.

I’m not sure yet about CSP though from what I’ve read CSP married with a series of Ink Preferred (does this one have currency fee?)

Look forward to your guidance :)

Addendum:
Couldn't help myself and Tried C1. I have used the Capital One Pre-approval check. I entered my Sarasota Address and I get the following error:

Has anyone else encountered this with C1? What service might work with C1?
Just to update everyone who's interested. I've been unable to apply for C1 given that they won't accept Sarasota. as an address - I've tried for both Checking/Savings and Credit cards now.

I've also tried to apply for a checking account with Discover as they had a $400 opening bonus but they wouldn't accept my ITIN - they needed an SSN.

I've just tried to apply for CSP and it's been referred:

Sorry to ask so many questions - what happens next to get to "yes"? I turned off my VPN so I could work remotely today as my remote work session was very slow.

Appreciate any guidance.

I can help with an address in the USA, for a commission :)

I am currently in the USA, visiting my family, and have an address in Los Angeles, if that helps.

Call Chase recon (Google numbers) and you should be able to move the application along to a decision or work out what documents you need to provide for a decision.
I would say just wait 24 hours and see whether anything changes. You'll either get 2 week message or 7-10 day message which then you should call recon.

I would recommend others against this since your credit report is linked with your residential address. Banks will see a different address and request proof of address.

It’s just an offer if anyone needs it as many are using forwarding services which banks are reluctant to issue to.

If anyone has a referral they want to share with me for tesla, feel free to do so and you should receive 10k in credits. I spend more time on this forum than anywhere else

Hope it's okay that I post this here - I don't want to use a random referral from ozbargain

If transferring MR points to US Amex card I have read from others that its once a year that you can transfer - is that limit of once a year on sending (AUS limited) or receiving (USA limited)

I have MR points with a business card here and wondering should I convert to KF prior to Oct 4 deadline or can I send to USA and also sewnd from platinum card as well within the year

Thanks for advice
It’s once per 12 month period per account for either sending or receiving .

Applied and was approved for the 5th Chase card, Aeroplan, 2 months after approved for Ink. Should've waited 3 months but needed my friend to send all my cards over.

The automated message said they sent a letter and after talking to the agent, I was told I had to wait for the letter or go to the branch as they requested the info about ITIN and no option to upload online. I received the letter and they just asked me to sign w9 form that came with the letter or w8-ben if non resident alien. This was to certify ITIN as it wasn't showing at credit bereaus.

I wasn't supposed to to sign w9 form and I was a bit worried doing w8-ben as it might affect my current accounts telling them that I'm a non resident alien. Thankfully the letter also said I could complete this on the phone by calling this specific number which I did. Weird the first agent couldn't do it so I guess it has to be this specific number.

This ITIN certification thing is the same as when Chase reads the disclaimer about IRS charging $50 fee if ITIN you give them is wrong. It was still weird as Chase did this on the phone for my previous apps without sending any letter. One thing I did differently this time was I used VPN to apply (testing). Not sure if it triggered this letter thing.

My ITIN is showing on EQ and I believe EX and TU don't show it. With my Illinois address, Chase mostly pulls EX/TU. Another 2 HPs to get Chase card.

Hi Finale,
Which site do you use to get your credit reports ? And did you have to call or write to them to get your reports?

Quick update:
  • Called Chase and they sent me an email requesting document upload - I sent my HSBC account statement as proof of residential address (fairly, it asked for a utility bill but we'll see how that goes - any feedback on others' experience here would be awesome);
  • I got an email to wait so will now wait;
  • I applied for Capital One Checking with the $350 promo code. I also applied for a 360 Savings account - after jumping through some hoops - they both opened - they're not showing on my login - I was told that the mobile number has to verify with the carrier - not sure how that will go.
  • Tried to apply for Venture card which I plan to use as my "everyday" card (assuming the $A doesn't continue to face plant at the rate of knots). While it accepted Sarasota for the Checking and savings account, it called it out as a mail forwarder and refuses to send CC's there. What are my alternatives?

Do I give up on the whole C1 experiment? How do I get to "yes"? I'm mostly interested in the C1 card.
