Strategy to obtain US Amex

I added my Chase UA card to Apple Pay. They sent a code to Textnow and it worked fine.

I'll ask to use Google Fi next time I call up for verification. Seems less troublesome and it's stress free.

Has anyone experienced issues with Chase not being able to send a verification code to their mobile number? Apparently my GV number doesn't seem to work and they can't generate a code for the number.
My TextNow numbers works for Apple Pay & online banking verifications codes, but not for identification verification codes that they send when you are on the phone with Chase.

Instead, they always ask a few questions from my credit record to verify. Never been an issue.

I think my new AMEX Everyday card is lost in the mail (Supposed to have arrived at my MyUS address 3 days ago and i think it was shipped on the 20th of March via USPS) Unfortunately the AMEX tracking link is not working too. (Also no USPS tracking number since this card is non premium)

If i were to call up AMEX and decide to get the replacement card to be sent to my Australian address, what is the usual procedure ? Do i have to give them a copy of my Australian drivers license etc ?

Wait for 10 days from when they originally sent out your card and then call them up to request it to be sent to Aus.

MyUS does not usually accept mail from other than courier companies. United States Postal Service (i.e., the “Post Office”) mail may well be RTS or destroyed by MyUS, unless subscribed to the Premium + Mail option. However, ordinary mail sometimes slips through

I have the same issue with 2 cards at the moment :(

It was supposed to arrive last week and still haven't heard anything

For people interested in having a cheap postpaid number, Boost Infinite is offering a postpaid service for $25/mo. They do a soft credit check and accept ITIN as well.
I've been using this for a couple months now and I can get all verification and 2FA texts from banks.

I believe my premium membership includes mail delivery, as i managed to receive my Aspire card mid last year and it was forwarded to Australia. But i will email them just to double check.

Oh no, which cards are you waiting for ?
Were they sent via USPS with no tracking ?
And are you using a MyUS address too ?

The Amex "Track my Card" link is not working for me too (It keeps redirecting me to the AMEX website instead) I think i will have to call up AMEX sooner or later.

The Aspire card would have been courier-delivered (and not regarded as ‘mail’) so should have been accepted by MyUS anyway.

The problem is with ordinary mail (the method that Amex uses to deliver non-premium cards) i.e., from the United States Postal Service. MyUS usually needs the USPS Form 1583 for this.

I did fill out a USPS 1583 form back in 2007 when i signed up to one of their legacy plans : )
They also accepted and forwarded a Remitly Passbook debit card last year, which was sent via USPS. Anyway, let me email them now to confirm.

Do you keep the line active all the time or? $25/month seems pretty expensive, granted it gives you all the verification and 2FA.

Waiting for 2 hilton cards.

I had the Gold charge card come 2 months ago with no issues. When I click the link to the tracking for the amex card, it asks me to log in and then gives the option to replace another card. If anyone knows where to find the tracking number please let me know.

Yes, given I had issues logging into Chase and AmEx with my previous lines, I'm ok with paying a bit more to have a reliable line
Yeah fair enough. Thankfully I haven’t had any issues with Amex but bit worried about progressing into Chase territory and not having my GV number work for verification texts. Haha.

Does anyone know if the Citi Premier’s multiplier on supermarket works internationally or just in the US like the Amex Gold does?

I have the US Premier and the supermarket multiplier currently works in AU. Not sure about the AU Premier giving bonuses on such spend internationally - best to put a "tester" through - suspect it works it out based on what merchant code the supermarket uses.

Thanks yeah sorry, should have specified, but I was referring to the US variant of the card. Although thinking back, I think there have been DPs around how Citi can be difficult with international spend on new cards. Perhaps it’s Chase first, then managing Citi after.

When you apply with your ITIN for another Amex card, does it report your other amex cards to your ITIN as well?

Given my EQ report is messed up, I was thinking whether applying for my 3rd Amex card with my ITIN so it would re-reprot the correct information to my account.
