What's the strangest visa requirement you've come across?

Jordan is taking the cake for me, for 2 reasons.

An HIV test for stays exceeding 30 days may be required. Currently, the fee to get the health certificate is 20 Jordanian Dinars.

The 2nd reason, is that they don't really offer a transit visa. There is an option to stay at the Amman Airport Hotel, which by all accounts is rather horrible, you have to surrender your passport, and not leave the hotel. That's the only way to get around the 40 JOD p/p visa fee on a <24 hour transit - they'll let you through without paying, but only if the above criteria is met. Otherwise, just lump it.... or spend the night in the RJ Crown lounge!
