People travelling through Singapore Changi Airport are encouraged to take advantage of the Changi Shopping vouchers which are made available to people travelling on SQ/MI into & out of Changi airport on a transit. Vouchers available on paid & award bookings.

For the latest news and discussion on this offer, please check this thread: http://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/community/travel-news/sq-mi-changi-transit-pax-46574.html

The program is promoted on the SQ website : http://www.singaporeair.com/jsp/cms/en_UK/promotions/transit-promotion.jsp

Even after this has been a successful promotion by Changi airport for some time, still there are many pax that are not claiming their free money. It might be a consideration to make this one a sticky or some how link to the promotion to ensure people are getting the benefit.

Enjoy.

At first not many people were taking advantage of the vouchers however now that there are more the wait is really long, it could be up to a 40+ min wait and when your on a short transit you may not have the time :(

Bump: Does anyone have recommendations for using these? a number (10+) may be coming in to my possession in some upcoming group travel.

whatever you can buy in Changi sounds pretty good. the new restrictions on perfume/liquour spend complicates things a little.

It took Mrs ALbatross two transits to work out her best value which ended up being on some mainstream cosmetic items.

Enjoy the group travel.

do you know if we can still get the dollars if we do layover for 4nights in singapore instead of just a transit?

Go try it foggy but answer will be no - these are transit $s - transit is <24hrs.

  • CDVs will only be issued to passengers in transit within 24 hours at Changi Airport. This is calculated from the Scheduled Time of Arrival (STA) of the arriving flight to Changi Airport to the Scheduled Time of Departure (STD) of the connecting departure flight out of Changi Airport.

Cruiser has reported in this thread that there has been a tightening of the Changi Transit Program rules regarding one way redemptions getting CDV on both directions of a round trip journey from home ports.

Yes LC rules were changed April 1 - so if you had 2 o/w rdpts then to be given only one set CDs would be in accord with new rules - I have rcvd 2 X CDs 4 or 5 rimes post Apr 1 so yes clearly depends who is in desk.

I notice there is a new clause in the T&C here

  • For passengers whose transit (through Singapore) itinerary was issued over two or more separate e-tickets, please present all e-tickets to the iShopChangi Collection Centre located within the transit areas of Terminals 2 and 3. Voucher redemptio
  • n is subject to the terms & conditions stated below.

My next trip is going to include three one way KF redemptions so will be interesting to see what they think. BNE-MNL, CEB-BLR, DEL-BNE.

I'm assuming I will just present a single 'current' itinerary and see what happens.
