Stays that do/don't Qualify for points

Re: Hilton honours

I'm not sure if this is pertinent (but I guess slightly relevant) to this thread, but I'll put it here anyway.

Earlier this year, I booked a night for business at CNS Hilton through Wotif simply because the rate was attractive. King Deluxe (I think) with full buffet breakfast for two for $200. I decided for that deal, my wife would come along for the ride so I contacted the hotel directly to add a night. They matched the deal, added the night and upgraded us to a king deluxe relaxation room.

I wasn't expecting a stay to be listed for the first night (wotif) but I did expect the second night to credit. It didn't and despite emails to HH, it went unresolved. I contacted CNS Hilton directly and they sorted it out for me......two nights credited, one stay credited and all points awarded for both nights (I have points + points). I'm still not sure if I was entitled to all, some or none.......but I'm happy. (CNS Hilton is a lovely hotel, too!)

May I ask, would Hilton have honoured the BRG for the Wotif rate?? I never thought about trying that on.

Re: Hilton honours

Hi, A query on nights/stays at Hilton - I am one night short on meeting a target and have a 3 night stay coming up.

If I do it as 2 bookings - I know I will need to check out and back again that night will it credit as 2 stays or because its two
consecutive nights will they count it as 1 stay?

Thanks for any insights on this.......

If it's the same hotel, it's classed as 1 stay I'm afraid.

As already replied above, no, it will count as one stay. But ... you could do a mattress run :) Stay one night, go to another hotel for night 2, then return for night 3, two stays .. bingo.

No evidence here one way or the other, but the BNE Hilton told me it had to be 2 nights away, not just one. ie, cities like MEL where there are two hiltons, it prevents you having a 2 week holiday doing the mattress run and ending up with 14 stays!

Whoever told you that at the BNE Hilton was either lying or mis-informed.

For example, in Melbourne staying at HSW Tonight, HOTP tomorrow night and HSW Friday night would credit as three stays!

As for experience, I have done this in Singapore: Hilton (Orchard rd.), Conrad & then Hilton, also in Brisbane with The Hilton, the Treasury and then the Hilton - both those credited as three stays.

Such is indeed called a "Mattress Run"!

Indeed. At the very least, if no credit comes through it should be easily (comparatively) resolvable via a phone call to HHonors (or Diamond Desk if applicable).

In the past (yes, the past...) I have gotten multiple stays by ensuring a minimum 1 night gap (in CNS, did Hilton CNS, then HI CNS, then Hilton CNS = 2 stays), or by staying at a different property (in MEL, did Hilton HSW, then the former Hilton MEL Apt = 2 stays). Even properties in different cities with no gap (Hilton SYD first day, Hilton MEL Apt next day = 2 stays).

Using Hanlon's Razor, they may be just considering check-in dates and simply misrelaying the message.

i.e. If I check in today at the HSW it is the 26th. If tomorrow I checkout and checkin at the HOTP it will be the 27th. Now on Saturday I check out of there and back into the HSW, it will be the 28th.

The 28th is two days after the 26th ...
