This came about because I couldn't use my Ambassador weekend free nigh at any of the OS ICs we are staying at before the offer expires. In this situation we normally tay at Sanctuary Cove. As there is now a Brisbane IC decided to give it a try. It was available on every weekend. So on12/12 we set off down the Bruce highway ~1.30pm. The traffic was heavy but until we got to Anzac avenue where our speed dropped to 40 kph. Until then the traffic was moving at 110kph.
What amazed me was the antics of some motorcyclists. I am used o them overtaking on the shoulders but on 6 occasions they were overtaking through 2 lanes. Traffic was going at 110 and they were doing 20-30 Kph above that. One of the times I had just overtaken a car in the middle lane and was coming back into that lane from the right hand lane. The overtaken car blocked the view of the inside lane so I was half way into the lane when I saw the bike coming between the 2 lanes and he was really going. I felt I had to move back to the right lane to be sure of missing him.
Apart from that It was an uneventful trip and we pulled up at the IC around 1530. Good service at the door and we were in to the lift up to the sixth floor to check in. It was here that i began to doubt the stay. I had received an email saying I had been upgraded 2 days before the stay but on the webste nothing had changed. I had booked a king room on a higher floor and received a king room on floor 18 out of floors 9-25 that were available. I considered this more of a downgrade than an upgrade. Then I was asked if I wanted to have breakfast in the restaurant by using the breakfast as my amenity. The first time I have had to use it using the weekend rate.

Now we used to stay at the Hilton quite frequently but I left Hilton about 20 years ago so my memory of the rooms and lounge are a bit hazy. But I really didn't think much had changed.

We had a little rest and at 1730 up to the lounge for drinks and canapes. that next.

Sorry but I got distracted. Had planned on doing this last Saturday but also in the plans was doing some of my tax work. But the computer had other ideas. I couldn't log on to my Netbank on my laptop. It suggested my password was wrong but it would get me into the App. A message suggested changing my password so I did that twice with no success. again they would get me into the App on my phone.
So I used their chat function. If that is their best shot at AI they have wasted money. Support can be reached 24/7 so I rang. Was on the phone to a woman who obviously had no idea of my problem so first got me to change the password again and it had the same results. Then she suggested it was a problem with the cookies. After an hour I just hung up as it was just going round in circles.
I decided to ring again on Sunday hoping for a different agent. This woman knew immediately what had to be done and supplied me with a temporary password and a different way to change the password. 2 minutes all up and I was back into Netbank.

There was another problem with my computer. I couldn't put any pictures into any site. But before I could test that out our internet went down for 24 hours. When it came back sometime over Monday night/ Tuesday morning I could post pictures again. But the Christmas preparations was now taking my time.

So back to the report today. First the room.

Instead of the chicken leek pie it was sugar cane prawns. As is often the Australian IC way the hot items were delivered to the table but they did offer repeat servings without being asked. As well a vegetarian couple asked for a change o the prawns and it was done. The staff at all times were excellent. Some of the guests however were not.
A shot of the lounge entrance.
