Hey everyone
Currently in a bit of an interesting situation. Leaving Australia for LOTFAP I'm sitting on 340SC, by the time I check-in for the final leg home from LAX I would've earnt 330SC and sitting on 670SC. SYD-HNL-LAX will net me 120SC but the issue is my DCA-xDFW-LAX trip, it's a P class booking giving me 210SC placing me at 670SC but it's 2 weeks from my LAX-SYD flight. Will the SC credit within those 2 weeks? Because if it does I'm thinking of doing a SYD-MEL-SYD status run before I leave to wrangle 30SC and qualify SG for my trip home and gain lounge access. Hopefully I can bend the rules and get 2 guests so both my parents can get in or just let them go instead of me.
Anyone got any thoughts on this? Is it worth it? And if so, which of the OW lounges is the one to go in TBIT?
The 30SC will cost me 10k points and $170 but I'll get 2k points back and an extra 1,873 points for being SG instead of PS, giving me a net loss of 6,127 points and $170.
Edit: On second look at this post, the title is ridiculous I assure you I will use SG to my fullest ability over the next year flying SYD-CNS.
