Hi,
I'm looking for a travel agent with expertise in booking a status run with AA to help me re-qualify for WP next year.
We've got 3 main flights LAX - NYC, then NYC - MIA - SXM (St Maarten) and then AXA (Anguilla) - SJU - MIA - LAX and would like help to maximise the status credits with extra stops. I've spent hours reading the Status Run thread and am working out how to use Google flights etc, but am so busy with work that it would be great to find someone with experience to help me put it all together.

I thought QFlyer who advertise on the Facebook Freq flier site would be perfect but they quite abruptly told me that since my BNE - LAX flights were with points, they were not interested.

I would be most grateful if anyone knows a great travel agent who has expertise in this area and understands how crazy we AFF'ers can be :)

Interestingly, for those in the same situation, I just heard back from one agent who said that they don't do it for a few reasons
- Australian agents don't get the most competitive fares on stand alone tickets from other markets
- the airlines don't pay any margins to agents on US internal flights. So even on F and J flights they don't pay any commission, actually charging an international ticketing fee on top of their local prices as well as merchant costs for the larger tickets etc.

Thanks Serfy for emailing your agent, I appreciate it.

To avoid these fees, you need an agent who is IATA accredited and can issue their own tickets rather than using a consolidator. It is true that those USA fares are all at 0% commission, which is why the consolidators add a ticketing fee that an agent who doesn't ticket themselves has to pass on.

There are some Instant Upgrade fares that I've seen that an agent can build that you can't online. So worth it if you can.

Marginally on-topic, the other day I used the QF points and SC calculator to calc the return from a trip I was planning, including Caribbean.

For flights to/from Bermuda, Jamaica and one other, from mainland USA (eg JFK, MIA), it reported zero earn for J fares for a WP..

An error, I assume.

It was playing up for me the other day too, it wouldn't calculate a lot of those, hopefully they fix it
