Currently Gold with 150 sc's to make platinum by 31st Jan I've been looking at the most effective way to hit this. Have never booked a flight with points but am prepared to book a JASA to achieve. I've got a strike flight up my sleeve so a return to Alice Darwin or PER ex BNE will knock 40 sc's off. So need to hit 110 over the next month. (I've got plenty of time off between now and then.) I've looked at so many options that I'm not sure the best way to go about it. Any suggestions on the best way to achieve this?

BNE/DRW/BNE last 2 weeks of Jan, in J 48K points plus couple hundred shekels, 160 status points.

If the OP only needs 110 how about BNE-TSV-BNE JASA at cost of 48k plus $173 for 120 SCs?

gee that is a lot of cost (pts/$) just to get SC but i guess thats the only way.....

Where can you use your 'strike flight' to/from?

You could always use it BNE/TSV/BNE then from TSV do a return JASA TSV/BNE/DRW/BNE/TSV in between.

Alternatively if the strike flight be used on an open-jaw basis ie BNE/TSV - DRW/BNE then do a one way JASA TSV/BNE/DRW to fill in the gaps.

domestic status runs in Aust tend to be pricey...

If the alternative is this:

However for those dedicated SC runners it is possible to retain QF WP (1,200 SCs) for around $2,500 and 6 - 8 days of sitting / sleeping in aircraft seats, including the trip across the Pacific in a Y exit row. Doable but enough said.

I will suck it up and do domestic runs!
