I know this may have been covered numerous time. I just couldn't find the answer.

My renewal date is 31 may. I'm planning a J flight SYD-CDG return.

The return date would be the 31st arriving in Hong-kong on the 1st and therefore in SYD on the 2nd.

Does this all count on the same year or would my Hong-kong- SYD will be status for nex year?

It's based on the scheduled departure date of the flight. 31st May will credit to year Jun 2011-May 2012.
