Hello all,

My membership year finishes March 31st. I have 1395 status points for the year to date. As such I am 5 short of Platinum as below:

[h=2]Membership Status[/h] Current Status: Gold
Status reassessment will occur: 31 Mar 2015
Status credits earned from 01 Apr 2013: 1,395
Additional Status credits required by 31 Mar 2014 to attain Platinum: 5

Earlier this week I was 25 points short so I completed a MASA GLT-BNE return thinking that this would gain 20 status credit each way (and see me over the line as it were). I was mistaken (earning points calculator failure); GLT-BNE only credited 10 status credits e/w.

This leaves me 5 points short and in a pickle. There is very very limited, if any, classic award (MASA) availability departing GLT. There is very limited availability on any thing reasonably priced. It has also been very wet here so I am unable to reposition (for example drive to ROK and get a 1way flight).

I fly GLT-BNE-SYD-NRT in the near future but based on previous threads I don't expect Qantas would consider this?

Please advise, what are my options?

Also with regard the status credits required by March 31st would you please advise if a flight completed Monday 31st would be counted? The reason I ask is that the credit for outward leg of MASA taken earlier in the week posted same day but credit for return leg posted next day. If I had no option but to fly on Monday 31st the status credit might still post April 1st. Now that would be an April Fool!

Your help would be very much appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Get on a plane any plane (with a roo on it) - fly economy it still gets those 5 credits

The points are credited on the date of flying so if you fly on 31 march it is still in this renewal year even if your account is not updated for a few days

I would book a flight.

IF nothing works do JQ and pay for the status credits.

Worth doing the extra bit.

I don't think Jetstar flies to/from Gladstone, so the best option looks to be Gladstone-Brisbane for $109 each way.

Got a day free before 31 March? Fly to BNE and take the train back. From memory trains leave ~11:00 and arrives GLT ~16:00.

The Op would be better off just flying GLT-ROK and getting a lift back, one of the few QF flights that don't include a refreshment ;)

Thank you all for comments. Have opted for GLT-ROK-GLT.

Here's hoping the weather clears and the credits post correctly.
