I require 60 status points to retain Gold FF status. No planned trips between now and April. Can I purchase same with FF points?

'Fraid not. The only way you can earn status credits is by flying. If you are already Gold then it is possible QF may 'comp' you the level for the next year, but I would not rely on that happening.

If you have some points lying around try searching for and booking a JASA (business class anyseat award) from your home port (NTL?) to basically anywhere. Even the shortest return trip will get you 80 SCs (or you could maybe do J one way and Y the other for 60 - assuming Y earns at full Y rather than discount).

Edit: Actually I guess since I think NTL is serviced by JQ but not QF that JASAs ex-NTL would not be possible. So 2 YASAs or get yourself to SYD for a JASA?

The only way to get Status Credits is to fly. You can purchase an eligible SC'earning flight with FF points. Just make sure you purchase an "Any Seat Award" and not a "Classic Award". Business Class Any Seat Awards (known here as JASA) is generally the most effective method.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
