I recently completed a Journey DXB-HKG-BNE on CX in Premium Economy.

Qantas have credited the points and SC but they seem off to me.

28 OCT 14 CX 157 PREMIUM ECONOMY/ECONOMY 26OCT14 HONG KONG/BRISBANE4,315 432 4,747 Status Credits 30
28 OCT 14 CX 738 PREMIUM ECONOMY/ECONOMY 25OCT14 DUBAI/HONG KONG 3,685 369 4,054 Status Credits 60

So I got 60 SC for the flight from DXB to HKG yet only 30 for HKG-BNE which is a longer flight.

Would there be the reason for this or is it just an error?

Just for further information it was booked as a single booking together not separate single flights.

I don't fly a huge amount and am getting close to gold for the first time ever so don't want to have a potential error stopping me getting there.

Yeah. Simpler and Fairer. Since QF compete BNE-HKG you only get half the SC's now.

Ah that's so ridiculous that it's obviously the reason. I was thinking too logically and not simple or fairly.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

It is simpler and fairer - just fly twice more with CX, and you will get to the same SCs
So just give CX double the revenue than usual (OK if you can factor in twice the number of holidays in a year - a simpler and fairer enhancement to my life!)

Except for the case of EK, QF doesn't want to share revenue with anyone.
That us why I see it that they make points earn and status credit earn rates with their partners so low.
Eg: MH ADL to KUL discY earns just 883 QF FF miles.
Lots more earn via EK MEL to KUL, with a QF flight code. QF of course ADL to MEL to ADL.

Enrich members flying MH also do not earn a lot of points if flying on one of the cheaper fares.

Whilst true somewhat, that's not exactly an accurate comparison. Fares that earn nothing in Qff get at least 50% in Enrich. Those that earn 25 pc on QFF (on Australia to KUL or Europe routes) earn between 75% and 125% on enrich.

It is noted that the earning rates have improved on MH, but I can remember the good old days of minimal points on a PER-KUL run (was it 30% from memory).
