Hi Guys

After some advice, my partner and I just made Velocity Gold on a recent trip to Europe. (BTW, made Gold the hard way, all economy, all cheapest fairs available).

Looking at out Status Credit balance, it's seems that there are now 80 status credits that we have earned, that don't count towards retaining Gold, simply because of the "cross over" date between Silver & Gold!

Here's what happened:

24th October - needed 45 status credits to achieve Gold

25th October - SQ MEL-SIN - (on the 5th Anniversary of the A380 - cool gifts from SQ ;-) ) 60 Status Credits (Achieved Gold with this flight)

26th October - SQ SIN-FRA - 80 Status Credits

27th October - Status review to become Gold

17th November - FCO - SIN 80 SC
20th November - SIN - MEL 60 SC

Velocity Says that we have earned 140 Status credits since the 27th October - which is technically correct, but what happened to those 80 SC's from the 26th SIN-FRA flight? Do they just get wiped??

Is it worth ringing Velocity to ask? or should we just harden up? I know 80 SC's isn't a lot to earn - but it's hard yakka when you fly cheap economy & mainly shorthaul. And 80 SC's is 20% of the SC's required to maintain gold.

Has this happened to anyone else? Any advice?

Thanks

Happened to me. Gave Velocity a call but they couldn't understand the issue.

This was discussed in another thread and a member said he sent an email and it was fixed up.

They will count towards attaining platinum.

They won't count towards your requalification - this is in the Terms and Conditions of your Velocity membership - they count from the day of activity not the day of processing.

I am in the same situation. The advice from the Call Centre was if I was close to requalifying to call them up around the time of my anniversary and it would be looked into then. They were unable to rectify the situation over the phone, or via follow up emails (I was advised to register my concerns via the Feedback mechanism on the website, as they could see my point.)

I think you may have misread Stone and what you say "they count from the day of activity not the day of processing" is correct and what the OP had questioned. I read that the SC's they earned on 25th October, ticked them over to Gold however their review date did not happen until the 27th October and subsequently they have missed out on 80 SC's from flights flown on 26th October. If you ring Velocity TanyaGordon, hopefully you will get an agent that understands what you are on about and can organise to have it fixed, as has been done before in similar cases. Imagine how many people who do not read this discussion board have had this problem.

They actually ticked over the 500 SC's required for gold on the 25th October ledj;

24th October - needed 45 status credits to achieve Gold

25th October - SQ MEL-SIN - (on the 5th Anniversary of the A380 - cool gifts from SQ ;-) ) 60 Status Credits (Achieved Gold with this flight)

The system delay in picking this up until the 27th October, means they missed having the 80 Sc's earned on the 26th October count towards the current period which they should have in a perfect world! Looks like you may have booked on Singapore metal as I don't see any points bonus earn in your activity table?

Everything goes by activity date. On activity date status credits go back to zero.
Singapore-Frankfurt was on 26th Oct & your review was on the 27th Oct.
The computer reviewed you on 27th & upgraded you to Gold because you had 580 status credits & then you need 400 status credits from 27th Oct to keep gold.
I called them recently re a similar matter.
