Hello everyone,

I have a query about status credit activity date for a cancelled then rescheduled flight that someone might have some info on, bear with me as there is a bit of detail!

I had a morning flight from BNE to LAX cancelled on 15APR 2011 due to a plane being grounded in LAX and VA chartered a AIR NZ plane to fly later that night however it did not leave until 1 or 2 am in the morning which officially was the 16APR 2011. Should the status activity date for the flight be the date on the boarding pass, 15APR 2011 or the date the flight left?

There is no actual flight time on the boarding pass just a date. The only reason I am thinking of requesting it be the 16APR 2011 on my activity statement, and that is if this is even possible, is that I will be flying from MEL to SYD on 15APR this year, which will be the flight that ticks me over to Platinum.

What started all of this is that I got an email from VA saying;

We have reviewed your membership and based on the Status Credits you have earned in the previous 9 months, you would need to earn an additional 231 Status Credits in the next 3 months (before 5 April 2012) to upgrade to Platinum. That could be achieved with 6 return Flexi Fare flights between Gold Coast and Sydney.

So after receiving this email I checked out my activity statement and saw that my first activity for 2011 was processed on 7 May 2011 for a flight from SYD to BRIS on 15APR 2011. I figured the date I have to earn Platinum is before 15APR 2011 and not before the 5APR 2011 as the Virgin email suggests, which I have emailed VA about and awaiting confirmation!

Let me know your opinions, thanks very much.
